A formal apology goes out to everyone in Eurasia. Unfortunately, TheFadedSaint deleted the entire server due to dissidence in the staff team. However, Paul's legacy will reign as Eurasia will continue as it has for the past +5 years. In place of the Cyberpunk (Which may return in the future). A light roleplay will go out there to assist those still affected by the Covid-19. This server's theme is Summer Camp and Smalltown RP. Our Mission Statement is Clear: " We bring a roleplay that revolves around our community. By playing on our server you agree to adhere to all of the following rules. Roleplaying is where participants assume the roles of characters and collaboratively create stories. Participants determine the actions of their characters based on their characterization, and the actions succeed or fail according to a formal system of rules and guidelines. Within the rules, they may improvise freely; their choices shape the direction and outcome of their story. As a serious roleplaying server, we expect all players to respect others, and treat their own roleplay and stories fairly. If someone is having difficulty roleplaying and/or is not fairly ‘good’ at it, that is okay. Set a good example for that player, give them tips, help them out, etc. Being a serious roleplay server does not mean we’re not a friendly server. Under no circumstances will anyone belittle, harass or bully other players over how they roleplay. Instead, use these tips to improve their roleplaying abilities. Section I – Powergaming and Metagaming Metagaming is defined as using knowledge your character would not have reason to know; such as using OOC knowledge in roleplay to benefit your own characters actions. An example is finding out about the hidden location of a criminal group in an outside chat, so that you can find them and get the bounty, all the while your character has heard nothing about this group, much less their crimes. Powergaming is generally having an overpowered or unrealistic character that can somehow always beat others in anything they do, or on the reversal, never be harmed or lose at what they do. Your character has strengths and weaknesses, you must follow them and act accordingly. Additionally, you may not force another character that is not yours to do something, all actions must be attempted actions. (1) If someone is metagaming, question them about how the character found out about the topic, if it doesnt make sense or they are being generally vague then ask for clarification . If they acknowledge that they are metagaming and are in the wrong, you’ve taught them a valuable lesson, and should continue roleplay as if their actions never happened. If they don’t acknowledge it and continue on, politely explain to them in OOC (Out of Character) that what they are doing is against the rules, and if needed, ask for staff intervention. (2) If someone is powergaming, politely remind them that actions should be attempted and no character is immune to everything. In a conflict, it is generally acceptable to have a character miss a few punches in a fist fight, but also land a few. A character that always hits the other and never gets hit themselves can be considered powergaming, as they are ignoring what would realistically happen. Remeber that setting a good example of roleplay is invaluable for new players and even old. Powergaming causes a lot of drama and ooc conflict, so please avoid it. An accurate and realistic approach is far more interesting. Section II – Cooperation in Roleplay Roleplaying Rules: Guidelines for a fun and immersive roleplaying experience. 1a) You are always in character. This includes checking out other factions or towns, even those hosted by hostile groups, or exploring dangerous locations. Staff and players are not to accept, "I am ooc." as an excuse, with the only exception being staff at a location for staff-related work. If you are caught somewhere where you should be, there will be in character consequence. 1b)Players are forbidden from avoiding roleplay for the purpose of evading in character consequences to their characters. You cannot suddenly switch a character or log out to avoid repurcussions and doing so will result in a warming. If for example, your character steals items form another, and then that town's guard comes after you, you are not allowed to disregard them, log out, or teleport to avoid roleplay. If someone starts interacting with you, you can not avoid the roleplay so that your character doesn't get arrested. If you do it will be considered both metagaming and powergaming, and warnings will be issued accordingly. 2) If a player taking part in a roleplay scene needs to go AFK or leave the server in the middle of the scene, there are two choices: a) All players involved in the roleplay scene can decide on an outcome for the roleplay scene without having to act it out. For example: I am sick, and a doctor is treating me in his clinic. Something comes up IRL, and I need to leave the server. Instead of making the doctor wait, I simply ask him if it is okay that we decide my character had been healed after treatment. If the doctor is fine with this request, you may leave the scene and continue on as if you had acted it out already. If the doctor does not agree with this request: b) All players involved will have to pause the roleplay scene, and then continue the scene in the future when all players are back on the server. Until then, any roleplay related to the scene can not continue. c) Another alternative, in cases where you character is just present, and where you would not be considered avoiding roleplay conflict, etc, you may say your character simply left the area. Any further rp that occurs without your character present would not be known by your character. Ex: You and a group of friends are going to go out exploring the map in search of crashed ships, something comes up IRL and you have to leave early, or before they went on the scouting mission, in this case you are free to say your character had to depart, and could reasonable explain this in character as something came up. 3) If a player is metagaming, powergaming, not following server lore, rules, or just being caustic and disruptive, politely suggest how they can improve their roleplay, or call staff in the case of repeat offenders. If the problem is not corrected, contact any moderation staff and they will handle the situation for you, do not try to escalate the problem any further. 4) Roleplay Condition: You can only play as a human or an Android on the server. Any roleplay in which you are an animal, will not count, though you are welcome to roleplay pets if you character has them. Pets will not effect the outcome of conflicts or interactions with others and should only be used to liven up the rp. Please keep in mind that this is a serious roleplay server, you must abide by the character creation guidelines. 5) Roleplay Condition: Shelfing or Storing characters is not allowed for members of the server. It is only permitted in the situation that an event has your character taken off the planets, and in such cases, they are dictated and watched by staff members during and for the established small notice of time. This means, that players are only able to have one living character accessible to them. In the event that an event has your character taken somewhere else you are permitted to play another temporary character, this must be at staff discretion, and they will alert you if the need for a temporary character becomes apparent. Players that choose to reset and start a new character must do so after gaining staff approval. New characters cannot interact with anything belonging to the previous character, which includes their homes, belongings, or gaining their abilities. If you choose to reset and start a new character it will be from scratch. Should staff discover that players are using their old characters' items they will receive a warning, and all items will be removed and destroyed. If a character is killed in roleplay or events, they are cloned at the cloning facility and will lack memories up to 1 week prior to their death, including memories of their actions during that one week time. They will however keep their funds, as this is tied to their DNA and given a key to any buildings they own in city lands. They will also retain items stored at their residences. Items on hand are considered lost. Section III – General Rules (X) New rule added as of Sept 27, 2017, and applies retroactively - You must be 14 years of age and older to play on this server. This is to ensure that people playing on this server possess an iota of maturity, and to insulate individuals under the age of 14 from certain themes present on the server. (1) You must remain in character at all times during roleplay. Stating you are OOC will never be a valid response,and players or staff are free to act as appropriate depending on the situation. Refer to Section II, Rule 1a and 1b. Staff are the only individuals who may use OOC for staff purposes, such as observing roleplay or conflicts and moderating. Roleplay with your characters weaknesses, quirks, and traits in mind. Do what your character would do in the situation, not what seems best fit. This creates interesting roleplay for all parties involved and creates a good story for your character. If you need to speak in OOC any time during your RP, surround you text in brackets like, ((this)), using ./ in front of a statement also works. Alternatively you may discuss in the global chat. You will need to be using a skin that is appropriate to the setting and character at all times, skins that break RP will result in a kick until you have changed your skin. (2) Chat guidelines. Swearing is allowed in roleplay, but please keep it at a tolerable level. Avoid excessive caps and swearing every other word during RP. a) As stated above in SS 1, surround your text with brackets ((like this)) to designate OOC text. b) No derogatory, vulgar, obscene, offensive language, words, or controversial comments may be made in global chat (OOC) This is to keep the chat civil and inclusive of all individuals, including younger players. (3) Metagaming and Powergaming is NOT allowed and will result in a warning. If someone is accused of powergaming and/or metagaming, staff will investigate and act accordingly. Example of Incorrect RP You:*I smash my foes head into the wall, breaking his skull and sending him into a 5 month long coma* In this example, you are deciding the other characters fate, forcing an action and a result upon them, this is not allowed.* Correct RP You: *I attempt to smash my foes head into the wall* Foe:*My head bounces off the wall as I fall to the floor with a concussion* In this example, the other player decides the response in a way they deem fit and reasonable. If you believe another player is power gaming in a situation similar to this, tell them and see if you can come to a resolution. If not, report the power gaming to a staff member and they will decide accordingly. In instances where powergaming or metagaming are involved, it is at staff discretion whether to void the entire interaction. (4)The server does not condone nor allow sexual exploitation of minors, either through roleplay or OOC interaction via our server, chat, or forums. Should an individual be suspected of underage sexual interaction with another, the issue will be investigate and appropriate actions taken. We however do not moderate or control chats and interaction outside of our immediate control Minors are anyone under 18 years of age. To keep this server a safe and friendly environment, any content which elicits, invites, counsels or incites a young person to engage in sexual activities is prohibited. All content which advocates for the sexual exploitation of a young person is prohibited. Subjects such as sexual abuse, rape, incest, and exploitation of minors is prohibited in roleplay, the forums, and to be mentioned in chat. We do not tolerate abuse of this rule. Do not bring these topics onto the server, nor condone them. Violating this rule will get you a ban. Depending on the severity and nature of the offense, we may be compelled to report you and your information to the appropriate authorities. a) If your items or placed material are found offensive by a member of the server, you may be asked by staff to remove said material or items in a timely manner. If items are found to be in violation of our no-tolerance stance onsexual abuses, they will be removed without warning and a ban issued. (5) When your character dies in roleplay or events, you lose any items on hand. You do live a new life however, being cloned and set up with the same house and whatever items are retained in your characters home. Characters that have died in roleplay will not remember their previous actions or history 1 week before death. This is to prevent metagaming in the event of roleplay conflcts, or players seeking out their killers without knowing the reason. Should another player that was present inform your character of their death, then it may be acceptable to investigate. a) Following an in-character death and cloning, your home and property must be held to allow you to receive your gear. After you have received your gear from the chests you may continue to reside at the residence or seek new residence elsewhere. If you chose to find a new residence, your old residence will be put up for sale or rent. SECTION IV – PLAYER VERSUS PLAYER 1) PvP is only allowed under these circumstances: All players have consented beforehand. Should pvp be declined, then roleplay combat is default. An organized battle/rebellion/etc that has been approved by staff takes place. Only those taking part in the event will PvP, any player not involved is protected from PvP. If you illegally PvP another player, without their consent, you must return all the items to the player and a ban, kick, or tempban will be placed on the offender by staff. 2) If the situation arises that your character is going to die in a roleplay scene, and there are no other options, you may not simply leave the roleplay scene. For example: Your character has the plague. Since there is no cure, your character WILL die within a brief period of time. You are not able to somehow create a cure for the plague in the matter of a few days then go back to being normal, this is powergaming. When there is only one realistic outcome: death of your character, you cannot avoid it. If a situation arises and players cannot come to an agreement on the fate of a character, seek out a staff member who is online, they will come to a decision based on the facts provided to them. 3) Criminal Roleplay. As good as the citizens of Keplar can be, to protect, defend, and keep the peace, there’s always a necessary secondary component which may come last, but surely not least. The prevalent and necessary powers that stand to provide a unique and dynamic roleplay lie in the hands of the roleplayer. Players wishing to be involved in criminal roleplay must be aware that their actions carry heavy roleplay penalties, from IRP death to imprisonment. The unique and dynamic roleplay environment mentioned above can only be achieved if players who roleplay as criminals are able to provide ample opportunity and cooperation from both sides, allowing for the enjoyment from everyone involved. While it is not necessary to alert players to criminal activities, should players notice and take action, a criminal character must accept the consequences. Likewise, players of non-criminal characters will not metagame criminal activity. It is acceptable to find clues to a crime and investigate, but not blatantly go after the criminal with no proof or reason. SECTION V – General Server rules 1) Griefing is defined as the act of destroying, modifying, or tampering with what is not yours. This includes theft without a thief character, or without moderation. Placing a sign, leaving items, or carving a non-offensive symbol as a result of roleplay interaction is not considered griefing. Griefing is a ban. The length and extent of the ban depends on the amount of damage done. Griefing extends to killing players farm animals, uninvited destruction of player property, creating malicious content, abusive mob spawning, lava/water flooding to ruin an area, fire destruction of player property and lag generation. All these examples are prohibited at all times. If you wish to destroy or place down blocks in an area you suspect is player ran/claimed, please contact the landowner to avoid unnecessary trouble. If you are found griefing, an investigation will be launched and should you be found guilty, you will be banned. a) Unprotected chests are subject to loot at any time. Please protect your chests with a sign labeled [private] to avoid theft. 2) Do not spam nor advertise in chat channels. Do not advertise on the forums or any media of communications associated with the Frontier Roleplay Server. Those found doing so will be permabanned. Use private message if you wish to discuss another server with another player. 3) Do not ask for staff ranks in-game, Op, or similar. Apply on the forums. 4) Treat all players with respect – being rude and disrespectful to staff and players will get you a warning. (5) No hacking or xray mods. Optifine, minimaps, and moreplayermodels are allowed. An example of a banned hack is fly or xray mods, getting caught using hacks will get you permabanned. Don’t do it. 6) Do not exploit the server. If you find an exploit, notify staff immediately. Exploiting the server can get you banned. Do not macro. This falls under exploitation. 7) You are responsible for your account and the IP addresses tied to it. If you are banned, your IP and all accounts associated will be banned. Never give another individual access to your account. *All accounts with offensive usernames and/or minecraft skins will be banned. The offensive nature of the username and skin is at the discretion of the moderator.* SECTION VI – Banning policy (X) The Owner reserves the right to arbitrarily ban you from the community. (1) violation of any of the above rules will result in either a ban, kick, mute, or temporary ban. (2) In most cases, staff will contact the offender before a ban is in place. However, depending on the situation, staff may ban the offender without reason or explanation. (3) If you are banned, your appeal must be made in the correct location. If the appeal is submitted to the wrong location, it will be ignored. (4) Staff will not discuss ban appeals in game nor reasonings for bans unless it is to clarify to the general community about the server rules. (5) Lifting bans is entirely at the discretion of the administration. Your ban appeal is a privilege, not a right. Treat it as such. Section VII – Diplomacy and War in Roleplay for NEUTRAL NATIONS and FACTIONS Conflicts are times when violence and war break out amongst or between nations. Players have the freedom to control and roleplay their own internal conflicts and wars within reason, such as starting their own civil war to act as roleplay to transition their government to a more democratic one. There are several rules players must observe when it comes to conflicts: (Note) A Neutral Nation is a Nation that has not declared PEACEFUL STATUS and may engage freely in war. You must have a valid reason to justify wanting war, such as a territorial conflict, strong political and economic interests, intense ethnic conflict, or being the recipient of an attack originating from your targeted country. An example of poor justification would be outrage over a small diplomatic conflict, a simple desire to change a country’s government to be like yours (democratic crusading), or aggressive expansion without due cause. Any attempts to start a conflict without proper justification will either be invalidated or will be responded to with a crisis. Remember, you must be able to present a proper justification to the world and be able to win the support of your citizens and your allies, or else you might find yourself in serious trouble. (-) Attacking players for meta-reasons or plotting for a conflict with other players is metagaming and will not be allowed. (-) Cooperation in Server Geopolitics – Many players wish to go about their time on the server in relative peace and distance their nation or state from war, to broker a balance we’ve enacted this ameliorative rule. Nations whom wish to roleplay without the threat of war may declare their nation to be PEACEFUL. This will protect their nation from engaging in war roleplay. This will not protect them from malicious diplomatic actions such as trade wars, denouncements, propaganda wars and international sanctions (Diplomatic and Economic). Nor will they be protected if they violate the standard definitions of a peaceful nation or faction. If your faction incites conflict, you will not be protected from repercussions, and will no longer be considered peaceful. It is important to take careful consideration when declaring PEACEFUL status as you cannot leave it once you’ve decided. You may only be reassigned another status based on staff acknowledgement that your nation is not acting properly. In this case you will not only be subject to in-character consequences, but also be issued a warning in the event that Peaceful status was abused. When engaging in roleplay with a neutral nation (A nation where war is an option for them), the threat of war may be exchanged but OOC war will never happen until the war request has been reviewed and approved by staff. GENERAL WAR RULES: Keep in mind, a staff member must monitor the events listed below. (X) YOU CANNOT ENGAGE IN WAR WITH A NATION THAT HAS DECLARED PEACEFUL STATUS (See S -II – S 4), SEEK OUT ALTERNATIVE DESTRUCTIVE DIPLOMATIC COURSE SUCH AS SANCTIONS, PROPAGANDA WARS, DENOUNCEMENTS ETC UNILATERALLY OR MULTILATERALLY. RESPECT THEIR ROLE PLAY WISHES. (I) No harassment / bullying from any side may take place out of character at any time during the war. Keep in character. II) When conquering a city, the victor must take appropriate measures to occupy the city such as installation of troops, patrols and occupation roleplay from inhabitants. 1) War on the server is a serious matter; it involves the death of player’s characters and the destruction of hours of work. Taking that into consideration before inciting wars, and only do so with adequate reasoning and justification. If staff decline your war application you may not continue to instigate war in efforts of the other nation declaring against your own. 2) To initiate war on the server between two player states, leaders from both sides SHALL engage in diplomatic relations beforehand and consent to the war. The content of these diplomatic meetings are subject to the roleplay at hand. After diplomatic missions have been conducted, the player’s senior leadership/advisory body/legislature/representative body must vote on whether to go to war or not. This cannot be an executive decision from the states leader. This is to avoid war being declared on a whim and to encourage political roleplay, and after all is said and done in character, the war request must be approved by staff. 3) If both sides agree to war, military operations may be conducted. Goals of military operations can only be of the following: Seizing land. Seizing land from the opposing side. Seizing cities orplayer built areas governed by opposing side. Sabotage of military targets. Armed Skirmishes with the opposing sides Military. Battleground fights with the opposing sides Military. States cannot conduct military operations for the sole purpose of killing players, or killing specific players due to OOC dislike. 4) If states intend on seizing a player built area such as a city, town, village or any other established group built on the server, the state intending on launching the raid MUST declare to the opposing side 24 hours in advance that they intend on doing so. Failing to do so will result in the leader of the state being temporarily banned. Engaging in a raid of a player built area will initiate war progression. See section 7 below. 5) The capture of a nation’s capital city will result in the official dissolution and defeat of that state and victory for the capturer. With respect to the nations own roleplay, both nations must consent beforehand to this demise. If a party objects to the roleplay, the nations must work out an alternate resolution that everyone is happy with. The victor CANNOT raze/destroy the city when captured. This would be detrimental to the server population. 6) Diplomacy may take place at any time during the affairs of the two states. If one side wishes to surrender, the opposing side must consider the surrender and have their senior leadership/advisory body/legislature/representative body vote on it. Abusing diplomacy will result in admin intervention. 7) War Progression: When assaulting a Towns, Cities and Villages it will take place in three stages: Require 10 armed combatants present from each side to start each stage. (I) Trench War front (II) Fort / Camp / Garrison Assault (III) City Assault If the attacker loses at any stage, they will be knocked back onto the previous stage. If the defenders defeat the attackers on the trench stage, they will lose the war and be forced to retreat for 48 hours. If the attacker wins all three stages, they are victorious and may lay claim to the city; initiating an occupation. What the victor wishes to do with their claim is at their discretion. Trench Warfare Victory Conditions: (I) Trench Warfare (EQUAL BIAS) Breaching Opposing Trench Defenses and; (1) Eliminating all the enemy troops (2) Capturing the Control Point and holding for 5 minutes. OR Eliminating BOTH Enemy reinforcement waves Conditions for Victory for Assault (II) Establishment Assault ( / SLIGHT DEFENDER BIAS / ) (1) Occupying and securing the Establishment and; (2) Capturing the RADIO ROOM and holding for 15 minutes or Eliminating TWO of the Defenders Reinforcement waves or Eliminating the attackers ONE reinforcement wave. Conditions for Victory for City Assault (III) City Assault (1) Occupying and securing the city and; (2) Capturing and holding the main government building (Town Hall / Legislator Etc) for 30 minutes. or Destroying the defenders THREE WAVES or the Attackers TWO WAVES of Reinforcement. –Wars will be supervised by a moderator at all times and may only take place when a moderator is present. S VII Cont. Political Roleplay Crises (Lore) This section gives the lore department the authority to influence individual players nations roleplay. “A crisis can be given by a Event Manager usually due to players failing to consider negative impacts of their actions, such as ethnic tensions due to annexations or dissent due to government changes. They will however rarely “just happen”, but if they do then they will not have major game changing impacts. The EM whom initiated the initial crisis will be primarily responsible for follow up roleplay and reacting to players actions, they can provide some suggestions as to what kind of response will lead to good/harmful effects. Your actions will always have a huge effect on the outcome, and RNG (Random Number Generator) will often be considered as well when the EM thinks it is appropriate. ________________________ Questions?
